We often take the predictability of life for granted, whether it’s the slight cooling of the air as an oppressive summer gives way to fall, or that whatever happens, the flowers will bloom again next year. Similarly, come September-time, it’s become tradition that Apple will release a new iPhone at a big event in California and release it for preorder a few days later, before the mad rush to be the first in line to buy it in store. And it seems that this year is no different: Reports are suggesting that Apple’s annual autumn press event will likely be held in early September, with the next iPhone going on pre-sale Sept. 9.

Reports are citing Evan Blass, who has made a name for himself online leaking photos and videos of smartphones and other devices before they’re released, who has claimed that the iPhone’s confirmed pre-order shipping date of early September.

Traditionally, Apple’s September press events have been held a little later—around the second or third week of the month—and it remains to be seen whether this phone will garner the same massive crowds and sales that previous generations have. Apple announced that it had sold its billionth iPhone in just nine years earlier this week, but iPhone sales have been down over the last six months. On top of that, there are reports that the next generation phone won’t look particularly different than the iPhone 6 and 6S generations that preceded it, leading some to question whether many people will be interested in upgrading to the new phone, or waiting until what’s expected to be a completely overhauled iPhone in 2017.

I guess we’ll find out come September.
