AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 specs and shipping unveiled

We've known that the Radeon RX 460 and RX 470 graphics card were coming for a few weeks now, but we didn't know key details about either of the cards. These cards were teased a bit back during the AMD E3 show. We knew the names of the cards, but that was about it. Now the specifications of the cards have been revealed and we know just about all there is to know about both.

The RX 470 features 2048 stream processors and 128 texture units. It has 32 ROPs and the core clock is 926 MHz with a boost clock of 1206MHz. The card has GDDR5 memory with 6.6Gbps throughput. The memory bus is 256-bit and the card has 4GB of VRAM.

There are 5.7 billon transistors inside the GPU and it consumes typical power of 120W. AMD uses GloFo 14nm manufacturing process for the card and it has a Polaris 10 GPU. The launch date is set as August 4, 2016. The RX 460 video cards has significantly fewer stream processors at 896 with 56 texture units. RX 460 buyers get 16 ROPs and a core clock of 1090MHz.

The RX 460 has a boost clock of 1200MHz with a memory clock of 7Gbps and a 128-bit memory interface. The card can be had with 2GB or 4GB of RAM. AMD didn't offer details on the transistor count inside the GPU. The card consumes less than 75W typically and uses the same GloFo 14nm construction process as its more powerful sibling. The launch date for the RX 460 is August 8, 2016. The only key bit of detail we still don't know is pricing on both cards but with the launch barely a week away, those pricing details will be coming soon.
