Walgreens now proactively alerts users of coupons, allows redemption online and in-app

Apple Pay Walgreens

Walgreens has officially supported Apple Pay since day one and was one of the first retailers to accept loyalty cards over Apple Pay, and now the retailer is expanding its already existing support for digital coupon clipping which can be redeemed through Apple Pay.

Starting today, Walgreens will proactively alert users of coupons when they are looking at a product online or in the Walgreens app. From there, users can digitally clip the coupon with just a tap. The coupon can be applied in-store, and starting today, online and in-app too.

You can then apply clipped coupons connected to your account simply by waving your iPhone or Apple Watch near a terminal at checkout to use your loyalty card just like on transactions without coupons. Then one more wave to optionally use your Apple Pay debit or credit card to complete the transaction in the store.
