HP Inc country manager Thibault Dousson, who was due to take up a new EMEA-wide position within the group this week, has resigned and left HP Inc altogether.

It was reported earlier this month that Dousson was exchanging his job as South African country manager at HP Inc for a broader role: heading up retail and indirect channels in the EMEA region.

However, just a week before taking up the new job – which he was due to begin on 1 July – Dousson resigned from HP Inc, and has already vacated his office.

Although rumours abound, there has been no firm confirmation of what he will do next. Informed sources believe he may be filling one of several high-profile vacancies at other vendors, but an announcement in this regard is expected soon.

Dousson spent 12 years at HP’s South African operation. His most recent job was leading the team of HP Inc, previously the printer and PC divisions of HP, through a number of transitions over the last few years, the latest being the split of HP into two separate companies, HP Inc and HP Enterprise.

He joined HP SA from France in September 2004 as a programme manager. He then held various positions within PSG South Africa including category country manager, corporate enterprise and public sector sales manager and, in 2008, solutions partner organisations country manager where he managed the Preferred Partner Programme across all business units.

In November 2009, he took over leadership of the PSG channel and retail sales team and, in August 2010, took became the GM of HP Personal Solutions Group (PSG) South Africa.

When the PSG group merged with the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), he became GM of the merged operation within HP, recently taking on the role of country GM of HP Inc.

David Rozzio, previously based in Dubai, will be the new HP Inc country manager.
