Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Jumped On Q2 Results & Spin-Off Merger

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) reported second quarter non-GAAP EPS of $0.42 after the bell Tuesday, compared to $0.43 in the previous year. Analysts expected EPS of $0.42. The company expects to report third quarter non-GAAP EPS of $0.42 to $0.46 and between $1.85 and $1.95 for the full year. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.48 and $1.89.

The company announced plans for a tax-free spin-off and merger of its Enterprise Services business with Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC).

Hewlett Packard Enterprise gapped open sharply higher Wednesday, but gave back ground over the course of the session. Shares finished with a gain of 1.10 at $17.35 on the highest volume of the year. The stock jumped to a 1-month high.
