Dropbox EMM support now available on iOS, Android
Dropbox said Wednesday that its enterprise mobility management (EMM) support is now generally available on iOS and Android devices. The file sharing and cloud storage company first promised EMM support a year ago.

EMM is becoming standard within many corporations as employees look to bring their own devices and apps into corporate networks. In a best case scenario, EMM gives employees what they want while still allowing IT departments to designate which partner apps and platforms to let in.
Dropbox's EMM support comes by way of its Dropbox for Business API, which is supposed to help businesses easily integrate Dropbox's Enterprise cloud storage services into core IT processes.
Dropbox also said Tuesday that it has a bevy of new EMM integration partners, the biggest being IBM. While the two companies have been working together on a variety of projects since 2014, this particular partnership is about strengthening product integration that is brought to market.
For instance, the companies are making it easier for joint customers to configure Dropbox in their IBM MaaS360 console in order to restrict network access to only IT-managed mobile devices.
Additional new partners include Inventit, SoftBank Business Concierge, and Matrix42, which join previous partners VMware AirWatch, MobileIron, Okta, and Centrify within the Dropbox EMM ecosystem.
"These integrations will allow admins to take advantage of our partners' EMM visibility and management capabilities, and ensure that users are accessing team accounts from managed devices," Dropbox explained in a blog post.
