Intel has announced the availability of a new HD Graphics build compatible with some of its Xeon CPU models, namely version 20.19.15.4454, which promises to support Graphics Virtualization Technology (Intel GVT-g) on Windows 7 and 8.1 platforms.

To be clear about the supported CPUs, Intel’s update is compatible with its Xeon E3-1200 v4 family with HD Graphics P5700 or Iris Pro Graphics P6300, the Xeon E3-1200 v5 with HD Graphics P530, as well as the Xeon E3-1500 v5 with Iris Pro Graphics P580.

In terms of fixes, build 4454 only addresses a bug that caused vGT crashes on Windows 7 and 8.1 configurations when installing or uninstalling graphics driver in guest OSes. Also, take into account that the downloadable files are supported only by Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 OSes.

When it comes to installation, first of all, save and unzip the appropriate archive for your system’s bit architecture, locate the available setup executable, and run it. Afterwards, just follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

However, while the update is in progress, make sure not to power down/reboot the computer or interrupt the installation in any way, as doing so can lead to various malfunctions.

With this in mind, download Intel Xeon HD Graphics Driver 20.19.15.4454, apply it, perform a reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
