Airmail For Mac Gets A Huge Update With Airmail 3

Following
This article is more than 7 years old.

Airmail, my favorite inbox wrangler, gets a big update to its desktop client today to pull it more in line with it iOS brethren for iPad and iPhone.

There’s a ton of little touches you’ll notice as you click through, like if you have multiple accounts, the icons will get slightly bigger as you mouse over each one. The search bar is greatly improved, giving you the option to search by sender/recipient, subject, or keyword as you type.

In addition to polish and shine updates, support for Gmail’s Send Later, VIP, and Primary Inbox features has been added, making it work even better with the ubiquitous email service (seriously, when was the last time you came across someone who didn’t have a Gmail account?). iCloud sync has also been improved, with VIP and Smart Folders getting full support with this release.

If you’re a current Airmail 3 user, it’s a free upgrade from the App store. If you have tried it out yet, I’d highly recommend it. It’s easily the best third party mail client for OS X and iOS, especially now that the user interfaces have been unified further across platforms. The stock Apple Mail app is serviceable; but it’s feels decidedly mired in old paradigms. It’s a clunky, businesslike app that doesn’t like to play nice with Gmail. Airmail is sleek, modern, and considerably more agile in its development. You can find Airmail 3 on the App Store.
