Watch what you wish for. At today’s big Apple Event in rainy Cupertino the Apple Watch got a few new accessories to, you know, offset the fact that you have a pile of sensors strapped to your arm. It also saw a $50 price drop---it now sells for a starting price of $299.

Apple Watch fans can now pick from some new watch bands, including a new Milanese Loop in Space Black, and some colorful new woven nylon bands.

The Milanese Loop in Space Black is unsurprisingly similar to the stainless steel Milanese Loop Apple Watch band already available. It has the same signature mesh construction, and it uses a magnetic clasp in place of a buckle. The new nylon band is a Nato-style woven fabric band, and comes in vibrant colors like yellow, pink, and bright green.

The Watch itself didn't get any hardware upgrades; just new bands this time around. These new additions to the line of available bands brings even more choices to the Apple Watch bracelet lineup. Which, when you think about it, is not very Apple-like. For a company that’s known for giving only a few design options to consumers, its foray into wearables has taken the opposite approach---one that focuses on individual tastes instead of lock-step branding.

We'll get pricing and availability information from Apple soon.

The Apple watch has been out for over a year now, and although Apple has not disclosed exact sales figures, there are rumors that the second generation Apple Watch could come out as soon as this Fall. To be safe, set your first-generation Apple Watch to remind you that a second version is coming soon.
