Video leak reveals Samsung Galaxy S7’s interface for the first time

Less than a week away from Samsung’s Unpacked event, the Galaxy S7 has been shown off in a short 14 second video. This is the first glimpse of the software running on the S7 and it looks nearly identical to last year’s and the version of Marshmallow that is rolling out now to other devices.

The video confirms that last week’s wallpaper leak was accurate and we see more of the same rounded and flatter icons. Like before, a large weather widget takes up most of the first homescreen. To the left, in place of Google Now, is Flipboard and to the right is the Papergarden widget, another magazine app. The black color of the device in the video matches press renders from last weekend.

As we get closer to Sunday, many more details will likely continue to be leaked. For its part, Samsung is running a series of videos where anything but an actual person is unboxing the S7 and then drawing what they see. It is quite hilarious and is a good ad coming out of the company.

The S7 is expected to have a 5.2-inch display, while the S7 Edge will be at 5.5-inch. Both will be powered by either a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor (depending on region), 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage with microSD expansion. The S7 will have a 3000mAH battery, while the Edge will have a hefty 3600mAh battery. The device is rumored to be available as early as next month.
