Samsung's four-by-four video wall of transparent OLED panels is currently being shown off to business clients at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2016 in Amsterdam, which will last from February 9 to 12.

The firm first unveiled its transparent "mirror" displays last year and has since been heavily promoting the technology. It is the first time the firm is combining the technology with its video wall concept.

A Samsung spokesman said that the video wall was still a concept that it was working to commercialise soon.

Samsung said its four core product lines for this year will be LED signage, outdoor signage, video wall, and electronic chalkboard.

The firm's enterprise business team at its Visual Display division told ZDNet in an interview that they are seeing a surge in demand for displays going forward and that it was building a platform for its commercial displays to build its own value chain in the sector.

At the ISE, Samsung showed off a new contents management solution called Magicinfo Server 4.0 that allows clients to control all the content in all the signage it owns.

It showed off twelve new LED panels with pixel-to-pixel distance ranging from 1.5 millimetres to 20 millimetres.

Samsung said its outdoor signage can handle temperatures between -30C° to 50C°, is IP56-certified, and is dust- and water-proof. It has lumens of 3000 nit and a contrast ratio of 5,000 to 1 that will allow it to play high-resolution videos outside. The same technology was used for its Safety Truck concept in Argentina.

The tech conglomerate had a 25.3 percent share of the public display market in 2013 and 26.9 percent in 2014, shipping 2.378 million and 2.684 million units respectively, according to IHS.

Not to be outdone by Samsung, compatriot LG has shown off arch and wave-shaped OLED signage at ISE.

South Korea's second largest electronics firm showed off a dual-sided OLED panel that is also curved in the shape of a wave.

OLED displays do not use a backlight -- unlike Liquid Crystal Display ones -- being more easily configured to bend, LG said.

The company will also provide its WebOS for some of the displays that will allow clients to manage them easier.

"With our overwhelming high resolution, we will provide differentiated products for commercial display," said a LG spokesman.

LG has made no secret of its commitment to investing in OLED, both in the consumer and enterprise sector. Last year it began investing $1.6 billion on a new factory that will produce OLEDs in South Korea.
