Buzz Me In!, an App-Based Doorman, Improves Safety and Convenience for Condo and Apartment Dwellers
Portland, OR (PRWEB) January 12, 2016 -- For urban dwellers, “buzzing” people in is a familiar scenario. Guests look up a name on a call box, dial the number, and wait for the resident to grant them access, usually by dialing “9” on their mobile phone.
But according to Buzz Me In’s founder, Matthew Aman, the system didn’t always work: “It was really inefficient. I moved into a secured condo building, and to let someone in, you had to wait around for a phone call. Sometimes you missed the call, and it would go directly to voicemail. Plus, it’s simply not secure. Callboxes aren’t known for their audio clarity, so there’s always a risk of letting someone in you don’t know, and there was no record of who entered the building.”
Aman created Buzz Me In to make it easier—and more secure—to let visitors into his secured building. Via the Buzz Me In app, users can create an account and then assign different codes to visitors. Codes can be one-time only (for the delivery guy), scheduled for a certain time and day (for the housekeeper or dog walker), or continuously enabled (for friends, family, significant others). When a visitor arrives, they dial the callbox and are prompted for their code. Every access attempt is logged, and users receive an SMS notification when someone is on their way in. Buzz Me In enables users to unlimited codes for only $4.99 a month.
“You can create separate codes for your nanny, your girlfriend or boyfriend, your mother-in-law, your maid service, really anyone,” said Aman. “You can schedule usage for each unique access code from a one-time entry to a weekly, one-hour window, or grant them full-time access.”
The app is free to download and is available on the Apple and Android stores as “Buzz Me In!”
