Apple Lists 100 Car Models with CarPlay Support

Apple has published a list of car models that support CarPlay, a list that currently includes 21 different brands and more than 100 models. The list is part of Apple's broader CarPlay sub-site, and marks an expansion of the company's efforts to promote the technology.

CarPlay allows users to access and control content from their iOS devices on a car's built-in display system. From navigation (with Apple Maps) to playing music from iTunes, CarPlay makes accessing content more hands free and hopefully less of a distraction.

Apple has been steadily ratcheting up promotion and support for CarPlay, including this new list of more than 100 car models that support the technology. Ford announced a major CarPlay partnership with Apple during last week's CES event in Las Vegas. The company also unveiled improved CarPlay access to Apple Music in the first beta of iOS 9.3 on Monday. iOS 9.3 will be released to the public later this year.
