Concept designer envisions new Windows 10 desktop

The Start menu returned in Windows 10, and Microsoft also introduced some other changes to the desktop to make it look modern and fresh, but that’s clearly not enough for users who expected a more significant overhaul.

Concept designers are the one responsible for implementing all users’ ideas into just a single design that could envision different ways of overhauling the operating system so that it's closer to what people expected in the first place.

This is the case of the so-called Windows One concept created by DeviantArt user danielskrzypon, who not only redesigned the Start menu but also made other subtle tweaks to the desktop to continue this modern approach started by Microsoft with Windows 10.

“Action Center pinned to the start menu for easy quick access to everything. Power buttons as large icons for easy access to hibernation / reset / off your computer. Access to the Xbox One from the tiles makes them easier to run for streaming gameplay,” the designer explains some of the changes he made in this concept.

Needless to say, this concept clearly needs a lot more refinements, but it’s still an interesting way to see how users actually imagine Windows 10 evolving in the future releases. Microsoft most likely does take a look at these concepts, and with a little luck, it might implement some of these ideas in the next updates.
