We’ve written about how the overwhelming majority of Thanksgiving mobile shopping was done using iOS devices, but Apple devices themselves were (perhaps unsurprisingly) highly in demand during last week’s big U.S. holiday.

According to one report, Target managed especially impressive sales of both iPads and Apple Watches during Thanksgiving — with Apple’s debut wearable device proving very popular, while iPads sold at the rate of one per second throughout Thursday.

While we don’t yet know exact figures, both of these stats are great news — particularly since iPads and Apple Watches aren’t exactly Apple’s biggest sellers. iPad sales have been declining for multiple consecutive quarters now, and the lukewarm reviews which met the iPad Pro aren’t likely to signal an immediate turnaround.

Apple also hasn’t released any official sales figures for the Apple Watch, which has led some skeptics to think that it’s not selling in the volume Apple might have hoped for. Target, however, has always been upbeat about the Apple timepiece — describing it as likely to be, “one of the season’s hottest gift items.”

Judging by the Thanksgiving response, the retailer isn’t likely to be wrong in this assessment!
