Microsoft's plan is to integrate VoloMetrix' technology with Microsoft's coming Delve Organizational Analytics capability which the company is adding to Office 365.

VoloMetrix, founded in 2011, is based in Seattle. Its software is designed to help companies figure out how their employees are spending their time -- as is Microsoft's Delve Organizational Analytics.

Microsoft demonstrated Delve Organizational Analytics at its Ignite conference in May. Microsoft is planning to launch an early preview for Delve Organizational Analytics within the next month and to make the feature available with the next release of Office 365 by the end of this calendar year, Microsoft officials said today.

Delve is Microsoft's equivalent of Flipboard for Office 365. It is a search and presentation application that is powered by Microsoft's Office Graph.
