The event is official, and we are officially stoked. This week’s news is all about what Apple is getting ready to reveal: a new iPhone or two, the new Apple TV, and release dates for the new OSes. We’ve been enjoying the new proactive features in iOS 9 that predict which apps you’ll want to use at which times and places, and that’s one reason we like Nuzzel, a service that predicts what you’ll want to read based on what your friends are sharing. Glenn has an interview with Jonathan Abrams, the CEO, about designing a social news app for every device.
Our final discussion is about Android Wear on iOS. Susie’s testing it out, and while it can’t hold a candle to the deep, OS-wide integration of the Apple Watch, Android Wear on iOS does a few things right. On-device curation of notifications is huge, and knowing when your watch will be fully charged is a nice touch too. Here’s hoping Apple takes a little inspiration from Android Wear’s more mature platform for future watchOS releases.
