Many of you may have read at some point that Apple is working on an internet TV streaming service, it doesn’t seem that implausible considering the fact that cord-cutters are making major players in the TV industry rethink how they do business. It seems natural for Apple to want a piece of that pie particularly when it’s going to roll out a new set-top box soon. However it seems like the company’s proposed price for subscription to its internet TV streaming service is what’s keeping it off the air.

A report today claims that Apple wants to charge subscribers $40 per month for access to its internet TV streaming service but the price is proving to be a sticking point during negotiations with networks which will be providing the actual content.

This $40 per month subscription price are said to cover a selection of 25-30 channels which might be good enough for someone who doesn’t want to pay hundreds of dollars per month for a conventional TV service, but apparently media companies are refusing to budge.

It doesn’t look like the negotiations will be done in time for Apple to launch this service alongside the new Apple TV at its event next month, and a recent report suggests that the service may not arrive before 2016.

Apple will certainly have to sort all of these issues out before it can think of entering the internet TV streaming business, from the looks of it this is proving harder to put together.
