Microsoft has reportedly acquired the Berlin-based startup behind the Wunderlist to-do app.

In an effort to further expand its mobile app lineup, Redmond purchased 6Wunderkinder GmbH for between $100 million and $200 million, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Christian Reber, founder and CEO of Wunderlist, confirmed the purchase in a blog post. He and the team behind the popular Wunderlist iOS and Android apps will remain in Berlin.

"Over the next few months as Wunderlist becomes a part of the Microsoft family, we'll introduce a host of new features, continue growing the ecosystem of partner integrations and progress in delivering Wunderlist to billions of people," Reber wrote.

The news comes two weeks after Wunderlist announced its integration with Sunrise—the calendar app recently acquired by Microsoft. The tie-in allows users to sync to-do lists between apps.

Redmond also acquired email app Acompli in December, which was part of its "effort to help people accomplish more with their mobile devices.

Wunderlist, meanwhile, updated its iPhone, Android, and Mac services in March, redesigning the application, and adding requested features like Folders and Quick Add.

Neither Microsoft nor 6Wunderkinder immediately responded to PCMag's request for comment.

Available to download for free on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Kindle Fire, and the Web, Wunderlist helps folks plan, organize, and share lists, whether it's groceries, movies, chores, or a general life inventory, setting due dates and reminders, or assigning to-dos. Pro users can also collaborate with colleagues, friends, and family.

When not busy purchasing other companies, Microsoft is prepping for the July 29 release of its next-gen operating system. By the end of next month, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free, or buy a new PC with the latest OS pre-installed.
