Dell is one of the biggest companies that sell PCs preinstalled with Ubuntu, and now they are also featuring a tutorial on how to install Ubuntu on your Dell machines.

Dell is making a real push with Ubuntu on the market, and that has become increasingly evident in the past couple of years. Their deal with Canonical spans longer than that, but Ubuntu seems to have gotten much more traction. Ever since the release of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, the popularity of this Linux operating system has increased. This particular version of the OS has been included as the default option by numerous companies already, and that can only mean one thing, more Linux systems out in the world.

Seeing an Ubuntu installation tutorial on Dell's website might not seem like a big thing, but Linux is finally in a place where it's becoming a real and powerful alternative. The fact that Dell is including it by default in numerous PCs and laptops is a good indication of what's happening.

Installing Ubuntu is easier than it looks

Writing a tutorial for the installation of a Linux system would have been an arduous task just a decade ago, but things have changed tremendously. It's now as easy to install a Linux OS, like Ubuntu, for example that you can slap a few screenshots and be done with it in no time. This particular tutorial is followed by another one that teaches what to do after you have installed Ubuntu.

Dell has just released a very cheap laptop series that is powered by Ubuntu, and the Linux community is already ecstatic about it. It's very likely that Dell will continue to increase the numbers of Ubuntu-powered PCs and laptops as the OS becomes more famous and widely used.
