The Apple iPad Mini 4 promises to make up for the perceived lackluster performance of its predecessor, and will unveil new specs come its anticipated October 2015 release.

First among its rumored specs is a 7.9-inch screen. It will have a lock/mute switch with its microphone hole, and will be slimmer than the iPad Mini 3. Some even say it will be the world's slimmest tablet upon release.

Under the hood, the Apple iPad Mini 4 is going to run on the latest Apple A9 processor and 2GB RAM for an iOS 9. It will also have the Touch ID system as well as Apple Pay support for better security for both the device and online purchases.

In terms of its release date, given the trend the California-based tech giant usually follows in launching its new devices, it would be a likely chance for the iPad Mini 4 to appear on October. Some even say that the iPad Mini 4 would be more affordable as compared to the previous one.

While waiting for official announcements, all other specs and information are subject to change. One thing people are watching out for, though, are possible discounts on the older iPad Mini models before October as it would be an obvious sign of the iPad Mini 4's release.

When the iPad Mini 3 last year was released, users commented that the iPad Air 2 was considerably better since it is slimmer, faster, and more secure. It had no Touch ID and Apple Pay support. With additional criticism received by the iPad Mini 3 about being just the same as the iPad Mini 2 with a fingerprint scanner, people are actually hoping that iPad Mini 4 is going to perform a lot better by having a higher set of specs. They want to see it become the next iPad Air 2.

Sticking with a winning formula just won't cut it for the consumers anymore. If Apple revolutionizes things with the iPad Mini 4, it will be the next biggest thing in the tablet sector.
