Malauzai SmartwearApps Live for Today’s Apple Watch Launch

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Malauzai Software, a provider of mobile and Internet banking SmartApps for community financial institutions, announces that its SmartwearApp is live in time for today’s nationwide launch of the Apple Watch. The company completed the apps for eight of its bank and credit union clients in just 40 days from inception to completion.

Malauzai is one of only a few U.S. financial organizations that have developed a banking app for the Apple Watch. The watch banking app is Malauzai’s second platform expansion in the past six months that utilizes its Mobile Only Experience (MOX) philosophy. In fact, the SmartwearApp itself is an extension of the existing mobile banking application to the watch. When end users download the updated version of their institution’s mobile banking app from the Apple App Store, they will have access to the watch app and simply need to sync the device with their iPhone. To date, eight community institutions are launching watch banking with Malauzai.

The first generation of SmartwearApps gives end users the ability to check balances, view transaction history and access a branch locator, with plans to expand transactional and money movement capabilities as the watch functionality expands. Complete with customized branding, SmartwearApps also offer financial institutions the opportunity to share promotional and educational alerts via the watch screen.

“Our team, in partnership with our forward-thinking clients, has done an exceptional job developing an app for an entirely new device,” said Robb Gaynor, Malauzai’s chief product officer. “The quickness of the project – 40 days from inception to launch – is evidence that the speed of mobile will become the norm for financial innovation. Malauzai’s development platform is built for fast adaptation, enabling us to quickly deliver new solutions to our customers while keeping them on top of their technology game. These eight institutions have beat the nation’s largest banks to the face of the Apple Watch. That is an unprecedented win and proves that community institutions can offer account holders better service and technology than they would find at a money center bank.”

The company has documented the SmartwearApp development journey through a series of blogs, videos and social media announcements. A white paper detailing the process will be released shortly after the April 24 launch. All information on Malauzai’s Apple Watch banking app can be found here: http://malauzai.com/wp/?page_id=2308.
