Watch Microsoft's Band in action with the first video showing off the new device

Microsoft has pulled back the covers and shown its play in the wearable market. The device, called the 'Band,' has a bunch of fairly unique sensors and can also show you alerts from your PC/smartphone on its screen.

Along with the announcement, Microsoft has released the first video of the device that can be viewed above. You can see how the device integrates into your life as a fitness tracker but also has extra functionality to make it useful for when you are not running too.

The tagline for the product is "leave your phone in your pocket and miss nothing" which makes sense as the device is supposed to reduce the number of times you have to pull out your smartphone on a daily basis.
