Target begins taking preorders for Apple's iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 on Oct. 18

Earlier today, Apple and AT&T began accepting orders for the new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Now, Target has announced that it will be doing the same beginning tomorrow, Oct. 18.

Starting tomorrow, customers can order the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3 on the official website of the popular retail chain.

According to Apple, the new tablets will be available starting “later next week.” Target, however, has a definite date for the release of the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3 in its stores across the U.S.: Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Target’s pricing for the new iPads aligns with Apple’s suggested retail prices:

iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi models will be available for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 64GB model and $699 (US) for the 128GB model. iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 64GB model and $829 (US) for the 128GB model. iPad mini 3 with Wi-Fi models will be available for a suggested retail price of $399 (US) for the 16GB model, $499 (US) for the 64GB model and $599 (US) for the 128GB model. iPad mini 3 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be available for a suggested retail price of $529 (US) for the 16GB model, $629 (US) for the 64GB model and $729 (US) for the 128GB model.

Starting next week, Target will also offer the older models in the iPad lineup at the reduced prices suggested by Apple, with the original iPad Air, the original iPad mini, and the iPad mini 2 starting at $399, $249, and $299, respectively.

Moreover, Target will offer trade-in deals toward the new iPads, allowing customers to trade in their working iPads and receive up to $300 to be used in purchasing an iPad Air 2, an iPad mini 3, or any other electronic merchandise from the retailer.
