iPhone 6’s gray market price drops below Rs 60,000

Vendors on e-commerce sites have already begun offering Apple's latest smartphone iPhone 6 at starting price of around Rs 56,000.

NEW DELHI: Vendors on e-commerce sites have already begun offering Apple's latest smartphone iPhone 6 at starting price of around Rs 56,000. The official launch date and India pricing for the smartphone are yet to be announced by Apple.
A vendor on eBay is offering iPhone 6 for Rs 55,954 and promising October 8 as estimated date to deliver the product without any extra shipping cost.

A seller on ShopClues.com in a mailer shared price of iPhone 6 (16GB version) with 4.7-inch screen size as Rs 59,999. The e-commerce firm is charging Rs 149 as shipping cost and promising to deliver the device by October 8.

Apple unveiled the new iPhones (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus) on September 9 and there are reports the company may officially launch the iPhone 6 series in India in mid-October or early November.

Vendors on eBay have also started pre-booking iPhone 6 Plus, which has 5.5-inch screen, for approximatelt Rs 77,000.
Both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come with 8MP camera and 1.2MP front camera. Both these phones support 2G, 3G and 4G networks. The smartphones come in three storage options: 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.

According to research firm IDC, Samsung was the market leader with 25.2% share of the global smartphone market, followed by Apple (11.9%) and Huawei (6.9%) during the second quarter of 2014.
A total of 295.3 million smartphones were shipped in the April-June 2014 quarter, up 23.1% from 240 million in the same period last year.
