Review: uNu’s UltraPak portable batteries can be recharged up to 8X faster than the competition (Video)

In my opinion, the worst part about having a portable battery pack to charge up your devices is making sure it actually has juice. I have a few battery packs around the house, but whenever I go to use them, they’re always dead. Sure, that’s my fault, but most of them take quite a while to charge. Thankfully, uNu has come up with a better solution…

The UltraPak series from uNu can actually be recharged up to 8X faster than conventional battery packs. Sounds crazy, right? Well, it’s nothing short of amazing. These battery packs are definitely the best I’ve used to date and will be replacing all of the other I have laying around.

The UltraPak Go features a 3,000mAh battery that can be recharged from 0 to 100 percent in under 30 minutes. That’s about two full iPhone charge cycles worth of power in a very short amount of time. Alternatively, the company offers the UltraPak Tour which packs a 10,000mAh battery and can be fully recharged in under 110 minutes.

Aside from its awesome recharging capabilities, the UltraPak series features a pretty slick design with glossy front and rear panels and a rubberized frame for more grip. The only downside is that the glossy panels tend to pick up a lot of fingerprints and are easy to scratch.

Inside of the box, you’ll find a small user manual and a power adapter. The UltraPak Tour has two USB ports (2.1A and 1A), while the UltraPak Go only features a single 2.1A USB port. Along with that, both battery packs feature a built-in flashlight that can be accessed by double pressing the power button. Each battery pack also features a small LED screen with a power indicator and will also show you its remaining charge time while plugged into the wall.

I was really impressed with the recharging speeds of both battery packs. Everything worked exactly as advertised and I was left with a total of 13,000mAh (between both packs) after a short charging session. Personally, I prefer the UltraPak Go due to its small form-factor which can easily fit inside of my pocket, but the Tour does have the ability to charge a smartphone and tablet at the same time.

These battery packs are rugged and made of high quality materials, but the pricing may scare off a few people. The UltraPak Go is available for $59.99, while the UltraPak Tour can be had for $99.99. In my opinion, if you’re going to spend any kind of money on a USB battery pack, these are definitely the ones to have. They will save you time in the long run and give you more than enough power to keep your devices charged.
