A solid and dependable time management game, Supermarket Management 2 might lack excitingly unique features but it's still quite fun for fans.

Reminiscent of Supermarket Mania 2 but with less shiny graphics and more mini-games, Supermarket Management 2 will appeal to fans of the genre but won't easily hook naysayers in.

A lot of the basis behind Supermarket Management 2 is also much like the Diner Dash series. Players control a supermarket and find themselves having to serve customers quickly, replenish the shelves with stock, as well as show customers to the right aisle and collect shopping carts. It's a potentially frantic concept but Supermarket Management 2 does a decent job of gradually introducing these key elements.

What this means for the player is plenty of tapping and queuing up activities. Prioritizing what needs to be done and when is a vital skill for anyone hoping to finish each level, let alone reach an expert score. Fortunately, the more one plays the more coins they acquire in order to buy upgrades, such as larger shelves, more carts and, most importantly, assistants that can complete some of the more menial tasks.

Unlike most other time management games, Supermarket Management 2 puts quite a significant focus on mini-games. There's a meat counter one that involves determining what item the customer wants according to their facial expression, while the fish counter involves snagging the right fish with a net. It's little things like this that keep Supermarket Management 2 quite interesting rather than solely focused on queuing up activities.

Occasionally, the regular levels are broken up by stages that are focused on specific things such as selling meat or other goods quickly. Again, this changes things around a little and provides a more fast-paced approach to the typical management style.

Supermarket Management 2 does flounder in terms of sheer personality, though. The story fails to grip and the graphics are really quite dated, especially given the price. Still, it's a fairly dependable game if not as thrilling as one would hope.
