apple-vs-samsung3Apple and Samsung have been battling each other in the courts for quite a while now, with both sides winning some and losing some. While Apple might have recently won when the Obama administration overturned the ITC ruling that would have seen the ban of some of their older products, it looks like Samsung could be losing this round as the ITC has ruled that some of Samsung’s products have infringed upon Apple’s patents.

However not all the patents that Apple put forward were included as some were thrown out, but essentially the ITC found Samsung infringed upon two Apple patents, one of which is related to touchscreens and the other being related to audio sockets. At the moment the ITC has said that Samsung is allowed to continue importing and selling the infringing products for the next two months while the Obama administration can choose if they wish to review the case and veto it if deemed appropriate.

According to a Samsung spokesperson, “We are disappointed that the USITC has issued an exclusion order based on two of Apple’s patents. However, Apple has been stopped from trying to use its overbroad design patents to achieve a monopoly on rectangles and rounded corners.”
