Sim City for Mac gets another release date

Sim City has been a a troubled release. As EA Games works on fixing the PC version, the Mac option has been been hanging. EA announced a solid date of June 11, which then slipped. Monday, the company said it will now be released on August 29th. Hopefully for this time it will be for real, although, most people would rather not repeat the messy release on the Mac platform.

The game will be sold electronically via the company's Origin online marketplace and other online retailers. Those who purchased the PC version on Origin will be able to play the Mac version for no additional cost. Also, gamers can play their saved game on either platform, so no need to restart on the Mac for those playing on Windows.

Sim City features multiplayer gameplay where gamers can work in neighboring cities to compete or collaborate. Decisions made in someone's city will also have repercussions beyond their city.
