OS X: Quicksilver, the app launcher and desktop search tool for Mac (and one of your favorites) just emerged from beta this week, adding a wealth of new features to help you modify your catalogs, create shortcuts and synonyms for the fils you want to access, and more, all while shedding its beta tag.
The new version of Quicksilver (1.0,) is more than just feature rich, it's a bit of a new start for the Mac launcher and tweaking tool that's still our favorite for the Mac. The new version lets you add files and folders directly to the top-level catalog for quick retrieval without having to search your whole system, and also allows you to assign synonyms—like abbreviations, alternate names, or anything else that jogs your memory—to a file, folder, or other target object so you can toggle it quickly.
Quicksilver 1.0 also packs a ton of bug fixes ("Add Trigger" finally works), improvements that play nicely with AppleScript, and new localizations for anyone who wishes Quicksilver were available in their language. Hit the link below to grab the latest version, or to read more about the big update.
