The Razer Edge gaming tablet wowed the crowds at this year's CES in Las Vegas. It's a marriage of tablet, Windows PC, and gaming console that's quite portable. Formerly known as Project Fiona and built using the feedback of countless gaming fans, the Razer Edge purports to give gamers what they want in a tablet, limited only by imagination and what the wizards at Razer can squeeze into a chassis roughly the size of the Microsoft Surface Pro.

The Razer Edge comes simply with a power supply and its power cord, but you'll have to budget a bit more cash to grab all the accessories that will be available at launch. The Gamepad Controller is almost a must buy, since it gives you true console-style gaming controls. The extended battery that plugs into the Gamepad Controller is optional, since it really is there to keep gamers playing away from a power plug. The Docking Station is another optional buy, but it will give you a place to charge the system and hook it up to a HDTV. The Docking Station turns into a must buy if you're going to use the Razer Edge as a desktop replacement with an external monitor.

The Razer Edge and accessories are well packaged and certainly aimed at an enthusiastic audience. The words "Welcome to the Cult of Razer" greet you when you open the Razer Edge and the Gamepad Controller's boxes. There are nice differentiating touches, like the green USB 3.0 ports and the backlit logo on the Gamepad Controller. Look for a full review in the coming days on PCMag. We're certainly looking forward to it. Until then, see our unboxing shots below.
