Is Apple's 'Why iPhone' campaign a reaction to Samsung's rise?

Is Apple's 'Why iPhone' campaign a reaction to Samsung's rise?

Is it a coincidence that Apple decides to promote its iPhone with a dedicated web page that actually tells users why they should buy an iPhone just two days after the Samsung Galaxy 4 was launched?

Nope. The Why iPhone campaign, which can be viewed here: http://www.apple.com/iphone/why-iphone/ seems like Apple's attempt to re-market the phone after their biggest competitor Samsung launched their flagship phone.

Apple, which had recently managed to outpace the sales of Samsung in the US clearly seems to have taken note of the potential threat the Galaxy S4 has to reverse their hard earned achievement. Now Apple seems to be on the offensive with their marketing campaign to ensure that they stay on top.

The page reads:

What makes an iPhone unlike anything else?
Maybe it’s that it lets you do so many things. Or that it lets you do so many things so easily. Those are two reasons iPhone owners say they love their iPhone. But there are many others as well.

It also boasts of:

- Eight straight awards by J.D. Power and Associates.
- Only phone with retina display
- Only phone with Siri
- Great battery life without a big battery
- The A6 chip
- Ultrafast wireless and LTE
- The world's most popular camera (with a sidenote that shows it's the top camera used by Flickr users)

Considering the mixed reactions the Galaxy S4 has received from the market, it will be interesting to see what the Galaxy S4 is able to achieve in terms of sales and will it be able to create record numbers.

In the meanwhile, we leave you with a comparison of the specifications of the respective flagships of the two giants of the tech industry
