Plenty of people out there make iPhone and iPad apps, but we were particularly impressed with the breadth and variety of Mihai (“Mike”) Draghici’s work, especially considering that this isn’t even his full-time job.

iOS app developer Mihai (“Mike”) Draghici

By day, Draghici is a senior software engineer for insurance software company Vertafore in Bothell, but he moonlights as an indie app developer making everything from a marketplace for bartering to a social networking app for new and expecting parents, with a Zombie Arcade Shooter and Noah’s Ark Adventure thrown in for good measure.

And that is just a portion of his portfolio of more than a dozen iOS apps.

Draghici is our guest on this week’s GeekWire radio show and podcast, telling the story of his apps and giving us an inside glimpse into his world as a developer, including his thoughts on free vs. paid apps and the evolution of the broader mobile market.

That discussion begins at the 8-minute mark in the audio player above, following our weekly news roundup. We start with a discussion of the new online dating service Anomo, which lets people meet each other via their avatars. We also delve into Amazon’s newfound status as the company with the top corporate reputation among the U.S. population, and our thoughts on whether it’s deserved or not.

App of the Week: Fast Camera for iPhone and iPad.

Name that Tech Tune: Do you know this eerie song?
