We knew that Apple CEO Tim Cook was going to be at tonight's State of the Union address, and now we know why: President Obama gave a special shout-out to Cupertino during this evening's speech. In a section praising various companies for being jobs back to America, Obama noted Ford and Caterpillar, and closed the section by saying "And this year, Apple will start making Macs in America again."

Cook spoke about these plans last year, saying that Apple was investing $100 million to bring some Mac manufacturing to the United States (one of Apple's manufacturing partners, Foxconn, plans to expand stateside this year). The comments were part of a wide-ranging number of technology topics mentioned in the address; you can read our full breakdown here.
