Macworld/iWorld 2013: Docking Solution Found In Gravitas

February 6, 2013
Henge Docks talked to our own Dom Esposito at Macworld/iWorld 2013 to discuss their newest iDevice docking solution, the Gravitas. Following Apple’s aesthetics, the Gravitas is a combination of form and function. The base is a one kilogram solid chassis. By using a metal alloy that is 265 percent more dense than aluminum, it has the weight it needs to stay put. You won’t have to worry about it hitchhiking with your iDevice as you undock it. The base can be used for anything from holding your iDevice for a FaceTime chat, integrating into your home sound system, or just having a house next to your computer. With its small footprint you won’t have to worry about losing real estate on your desk. Two different versions of the Gravitas are available with either a Lightning or 30-pin connector. Three different inserts come with it to hold any of your iDevices. The back of the base also has a USB connection as well as an audio line out. You can preorder the stand now through the company’s site. It appears the form for preordering is simply to be notified when the units become available, which should be around late March or early April. Both the Lightning and 30-pin models are priced at $69.
