The Weather Channel App Now Features Customizable Radar

January 22, 2013
Both the paid and free version of The Weather Channel app for the iPhone have just been updated with some features that are sure to please the most fanatical weather watcher. First up, The Weather Channel app now boasts customizable radar maps. Just like in the paid version, users can take a look at either the past or future radar, which definitely should come in handy. Version 5.2.0 of the free app also has a new way to refresh the weather information. Users can either pull down to refresh or select the new refresh icon. On the paid side, The Weather Channel Max also has the new refresh choices. For users of 3G data, information in the app now loads faster. The Weather Channel Max will set you back $3.99 and can be downloaded in the App Store now. Both apps are compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch. There is a separate, free iPad only app that didn’t receive an update today. Just last week, The Weather Channel announced that its app for both smartphones and tablets has been downloaded more than 100 million times across all mobile platforms, including iOS.
