Shared Calendar iOS

Shared calendars keep things running smoothly around my home, letting various folks in my life what’s going on with me and my family so that everyone is up to date on the latest information about our whereabouts. It used to be that I had to hop onto the calendar on my computer or via a web browser to share them with specific people, but no longer.

Here’s how to share an iCloud calendar with others, right from the comfort of your iOS device.

First up, launch the Calendar app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Tap on the Calendars button in the upper left corner, and then scroll down to your iCloud calendars. See that little blue circle with the right-facing arrow in it? Tap on that icon, and you’ll be able to add a person to share the calendar with.

Tap on the Add Person… field, under the Shared with: section. Type in the name of the person you’d like to share with. Note that your iOS device will attempt to autocomplete your contact below. If you see the email of the person you’re sharing your calendar with, tap it here. You can add more than one person as well, so type in as many as you want to share with. You may also want to just tap the plus symbol to the right, and choose a person from your contacts list. When you’re done adding contacts, tap Add.

Now you’ll see the person or people you shared the calendar with under the Shared with: section. If you want to add more you can Add Person… again as often as you like.

While you’re in there, you can customize the color of your calendar, as well. Consider that a bonus tip!
