Jefferies analyst Peter Misek points out in a research note that the Taiwan-based China Times is reporting that Apple will launch three new iPhone models this year:
- a 4-inch iPhone 5S
- a "lower cost" 4.8 inch iPhone "Math" to launch in June. (Math is either a mistranslation or a code name, he thinks.)
- another iPhone with a 12 MP camera.
The paper also sees the much discussed iTV going into production in 2013.
Misek himself thinks there will be three new iPhones this year, but he disagrees on the details. He expects:
- A lower-cost 4.3-inch iPhone...
- ...and a "multi-color" 4-inch iPhone 5S, both in the June/July time frame.
- And he sees a 4.8-inch iPhone at the end of October.
And he thinks the iTV launches this fall.
