My review from Volume 1 is the same for this volume, so I will just give details about the app. In short: if you’re a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, you don’t want to miss out on this.
I recently wrote about iPoe – The Interactive and Illustrated Edgar Allan Poe Collection. Well, Play Creatividad, the minds behind the app, released a second volume back in December.
To say I was looking forward to it is an understatement. The first volume was amazing and I had no doubts that the developers would be able to recreate the same formula for success.
At this time, the following stories are included in this volume:
- Hop-Frog
- The Black Cat
- The Raven (well, it’s actually coming soon, but will be a free update)
Taking cues from the first volume, Volume 2 follows the same formula to bring the stories to life. The audio effects and illustrations are just as you would expect from the first app: incredibly detailed and perfect for the stories.
So if you’re a fan, or you’re looking for a new way to interact with books, give this app a try. Or start with Volume 1 and continue with this. Either way, you’ll be hooked. I can’t wait to see what stories they have planned for future volumes.
Hint: Some illustrations require you to move your device around. Brilliant use of the accelerometer.
