A dependable if slightly unexciting way to read through many blogs in a short space of time.

I shall say this now. I've got no idea why NuffnangX is called such a bizarre name. Supposedly, it's British slang for 'very good' but I've never heard of it before, despite being British. Either way, NuffnangX is perhaps not quite 'life changing' very good, but it is quite respectable and a handy way of keeping track of so much knowledge in a short space of time.

The app offers a portal in which users can search and follow a series of popular blogs, each offered in a mobile and time friendly format. Starting out, users are asked to enter a few subjects that they are interested in, ensuring that NuffnangX can suggest some relevant blogs to start the ball rolling.

I didn't find it the most comprehensive selection of sites, but there were some interesting topics to uncover. In each case, stories are broken down into one line to sum things up so users get an idea of whether they want to learn more or not. Tapping on them then opens up the web page in a mobile friendly format. It's perhaps not the most attractive of interfaces, but it's a handy way of skim reading a lot of content.

Rather originally, users can share comments and insight through the app, opening things up to other NuffnangX users, providing the blog incorporates NuffnangX in the first place. It's a small but helpful touch.

Recommendations go one step further to adding a personalized touch to NuffnangX, but one common problem continues to arise. NuffnangX just isn't very pretty to look at. It's not a deal breaker, but when iOS is full of so many other attractive apps, it is quite noticeable.

All the relevant functions are there, and it's possible to add individual sites simply enough, but NuffnangX lacks that certain something that keeps users coming back. It's no more attractive than consulting a regular RSS Reader app and those social features are rather quiet. Together, this means it isn't quite the cut above the rest that it would dearly like to be.
