1Password is a highly trusted, reliable, and comprehensive password and information manager for iOS. There are versions of the application for almost every other platform including Mac, Android, and Windows, and the iOS version is just as powerful. At $7.99, it is pricey, so whether or not the cost to value ratio is high enough will vary from person to person. However, anyone who is concerned about remembering all his or her sensitive information and keeping it secure should be sure give it a look.

The core of 1Password is storing sensitive and private information, such as logins and credit card numbers. The app can also automatically fill in online forms. All this information is stored in a “vault” that can be organized with folders and categories for quick and easy access.

Information can only be entered into the app after an account has been created and a master password has been chosen. The first thing users have to do is set a master password, which is the key to accessing all of the important data stored by the app.

In order to have 1Password automatically fill in a form, users have to open a web browser within the app. Once a page has a form or other text box that needs to be filled in users can tap the quick fill button and choose which identity, credit card, or login information should be filled in.

Users can have 1Password generate new, completely random and difficult to guess passwords when entering new account information. Since users don’t have to remember anything except for the master password, it doesn’t matter if the new password is impossible to remember.

The sheer number of different types of information 1Password can remember is extremely impressive and comprehensive. It can store all of the usual things, like identities, credit cards, login information and such. But, it can also remember driver’s licenses, social security numbers, software licenses, wireless routers, and even notes if there is something to store that doesn’t fit in one of the many included categories. The app also has some really impressive advanced features, like syncing to iCloud or Dropbox.

1Password is a really great information management app. It is pricey, but it is an investment in security. Only having to remember the master password makes dealing with passwords and other personal information so much easier. Considering the iOS version is much cheaper than it’s counterpart on the Mac, I would definitely say it’s worth the money.
