I've always been a bit of a grammar Nazi, even before I started writing for any outlet. Like most people, I'm not perfect about it. I make mistakes, like everyone else. It's perversely fun to seek out the errors and mishaps in someone's writing, though, something that is precisely why The Grading Game is so much fun.

The game offers an easy objective: players are presented with a screen full of text, including one or more error. It's down to them to pick out the mistake within the tight time limit, thereby progressing to the next stage. Using a school style backdrop, the writer's grade plummets accordingly, the more mistakes are pointed out. During some papers, the next sentence is only unveiled once the initial mistake has been noted. It's a simple concept but one that's gripping in its originality.

Each level only takes around 20-25 seconds to complete, encouraging the player to think quickly about what they're doing. Players are marked down for tapping a word that is actually correct with being under pressure making this easier than one would think. More education stems from the topics used, with over 100 different subjects catered for and educating the player in bite sized pieces.

The Grading Game is the kind of game that's ideal to play while on the move and in short doses. It's far from complicated but it is immensely satisfying. Replayability is there in abundance too as, not only are there over 100 levels to tackle, but errors are randomly appointed meaning replaying a level ensures an original experience.

There's precious little out there that's quite like The Grading Game. Being able to educate people about important subjects and life skills, such as the ability to string a sentence together, is a worthy thing in itself. The fact it's hugely entertaining makes it all the better.
