Don't Like Facebook? Then You'll Like Voicepic Even More

September 29, 2012
In my post about Voicepic's 1.2 update last month, I observed that that update was the biggest one yet for the app. Well, it didn't take long for another update to come along and dethrone that update. That's because Voicepic 1.3 is here and, yes, this update is the biggest one yet. The new update introduces quite a few improvements to the so-called "Instagram with sound" app. One of these is of particular advantage to users who, like me, are Facebook-averse. Prior to this new update, Voicepic offers Facebook and only Facebook as a login option. But now, logging in through Twitter and email are made available. So, if you've been holding off on joining Voicepic solely because of its Facebook requirement, now's the time to let your voice heard in the app. Once you're logged in to the app, Voicepic's new design is at your disposal. In the new version of the app, feeds now display bigger images. The superimposition of the sound waves of the images' respective audio attachments is also a nice touch. Furthermore, the app features a redesigned capture screen that makes creating new images with sound, or simply Voicepics, easier. Creating Voicepics is also now more fun, what with the addition of new image filters, voice-changing filters, and sound effects. And as if those weren't enough, Voicepic 1.3 also adds the following enhancements:
  • Account Settings: Customize your username, profile picture, and language setting. The language setting will be used to filter Popular and Newest Feeds.
  • Following Feed: Start following people you're interested in and listen to their Voicepics.
  • Search: Search for a user and find someone you're interested in following.
Designed for iPhone and iPod touch but also compatible with iPad, the newly updated Voicepic is available in the App Store for free. Note that the app does not yet have iPhone 5 support. That improvement should already be in the works in time for Voicepic's next update, which may or may not be its biggest one yet. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
