Digg For iOS Digs Up Universal Support Plus Reading Sync

September 29, 2012
Do you dig Digg for iPhone? If yes, then you'll probably Digg for iPad as well. That's right. A couple of months after its redesign and relaunch, the originally iPhone-only Digg app has gone universal with native iPad support. Of course, the new Digg for iPad bears the clean and minimal look of its iPhone counterpart. It also offers the same functions, including sharing of stories and offline reading. As a matter of fact, a couple of additional functions have been introduced along with the app's universal support. First, you can now share articles via SMS or iMessage, in addition to Twitter, Facebook, and email. Second, and undoubtedly more impressive, you can now take advantage of Reading Sync:
Closed the Digg app before you could finish a story? The next time you open Digg on your iPhone or iPad, you’ll pick up where you left off.
I had trouble getting Reading Sync to work at first. But after some time, I finally got to see it in action. Reading Sync does remember that you've been reading a story right before closing the app on any of your iDevices. It then opens the same story when you launch the app on another iDevice. Promising improved performance and simplified navigation, Digg for iPhone and iPad is available in the App Store for free. The app is also optimized for the iPhone 5.
