PlicPlic is an app with a very pleasant and happy vibe. The overall feel and simple, yet fun game play make it a real steal for only $0.99. There is only one game play mode, which involves controlling an umbrella as it floats higher and higher. The challenging part is avoiding birds and collecting as many stars and coins as possible.

The umbrella is always floating upwards and can be controlled by tapping the sides of the screen. Tapping the left side of the screen causes the umbrella to dip and drift down to the left and tapping the right side of the screen causes the umbrella to dip and drift down to the right. Untapping the screen causes umbrella to start moving up again. The controls straight-forward and simple.

Players get points for picking up stars, which move around, and orange coins. Also, simply advancing up the level increases a person’s score. Collecting stars also propels the umbrella upwards at an increased speed, so it makes moving up the level go a lot quicker. Collecting stars is essential for floating up a good pace and another way to increase the floating speed is to rock back and forth to build up some momentum.

The main obstacles are black birds that fly in from the sides. Also, eventually its starts raining and the raindrops slow down the umbrella’s movement upward. Another obstacle is lightning that occasionally strikes.

The orange coins can be used in the in game store to purchase upgrades and power-ups. Some of the power-ups reduce the impact of raindrops on the umbrella and reduce the speed of stars. Other items that can be purchased are an extra life and getting double coins for every orange coin picked up. Players can purchase more coins with real money.

A nice feature are objectives, which are goals to strive for, give players multipliers. The graphics and sound effects are really fun and create an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere. The background images in particular are very well done.

In summary, PlicPlic is a really good game. The gameplay is simple and easy to learn due to very straightforward controls. The graphics create an fun atmosphere and the app is an overall great value.
