September 25, 2012
Since the release of the iPhone 5, I've been comparing its features and specifications with the iPhone 4S. Some of the iPhone 5's internal changes can make a big difference in performance, but that doesn’t mean the iPhone 4S is subpar. While iPhone 5 may be twice as fast, the results of this boot time comparison didn’t really showcase that power. Check out the video below to see the boot time comparison between the two. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8bHKUrHGEE Apple also gave the iPhone 5 a refined camera including features such as improved video stabilization, better low-light performance, and faster photo capture over the iPhone 4S. In the video below, I took the iPhone 5 and 4S out for the day to compare the camera quality. You can check out the high resolution images from the test at the bottom of this article. Let us know what you think in the comments below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDXjk7HjLLU One of the biggest changes between the iPhone 5 and 4S is the design. Apple decided to ditch the glass backplate and give the iPhone 5 an anodized aluminum shell. In the next video, we'll take a look at some of the cosmetic differences. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te_y9CsnAO0 These tests aren't very scientific, but they do showcase some of the similarities and differences between the two devices. Which iPhone do you prefer? Do you think the iPhone 5 is worth the upgrade? Here are the high resolution images from the camera test: [gallery exclude="341294" link="file" columns="2"]
