Research In Motion tweeted Friday that "some users in Europe, Middle East & Africa are experiencing issues with their BlackBerry service," although the outage has now apparently been fixed. The trouble came just as sales of the Apple iPhone 5 were getting underway in Europe and elsewhere.
Reuters notes that Vodafone reported that some of its clients were feeling the effects of the outage; the wire service also noted that some T-Mobile customers faced a service disruption that affected email and Internet browsing earlier this week.
RIMM in early trading is down is down 12 cents, or 1.7%, to $6.79.
