Dell Intros New Optiplex 9010 All-in-One PC

Dell's new Optiplex 9010 is an all-in-one desktop PC Built for enterprise business.

Dell tipped its hand on Wednesday, showing off a few new business PCs, including the updated Optiplex 9010 all-in-one desktop PC. The Optiplex 9010 is optimized for Windows 8, the new operating system from Microsoft due out in late October.

The Optiplex 9010 line includes several Intel vPro-certified systems, including small form factor, mini tower, and all-in-one form factors. The new Optiplex 9010 all-in-one is can be fitted with a touch screen for use with Windows 8's new touch-oriented user interface, and is likely to be deployed where touch is necessary.

Workplace situations where the all-in-one and other Optiplex 9010 models could find a home include point-of-sale (POS) terminals, reception, call centers, kiosk duty, and Web design studios, Dell said.

The Optiplex 9010 is slated to have several business and ergonomic features, including the aforementioned touch screen, Windows 8 Professional, an articulated stand that allows for close to 90 degree flat use, Intel vPro, security, a rotating camera, and enterprise-class IT management. Since the system is vPro-certified, we forsee a range of Intel third-generation Core processors from the chip giant's Ivy Bridge lineup, with Intel HD Graphics solutions.

The Optiplex 9010 all-in-one is expected to be released around the time of this October's Windows 8 launch and pricing will be available at that time, according to Dell.
