A colorful game where players match up 2 or more blobs with eyes? It doesn't sound too appealing, does it? In fact, it sounds like something we've all seen many times before. Gluey might not sound like the most exciting of titles but it does a decent job of being quite enjoyable.

The key behind Gluey is to match congealing blobs together, according to their color. It sounds simple because it is. The execution however involves a bit more thought for the sake of efficiency.

Three different modes are available, each unlockable after completing a certain number of the previous mode's levels. Puzzle is the first one open to payers and involves scoring a set number of points with the blobs that gamers are given. The key here is to try to form together as many large blobs as possible. It's not possible to move the blobs directly but physics plays an important role in how they fall down the container, so it's possible to manipulate this to a player's advantage.

Strategy mode involves clearing a level before being overrun by blobs. Each tap unleashes more blobs so it's a careful matter of gradually eradicating everything and lining up taps just right, so as to not be swamped. Survival takes away the careful process, instead relying upon keeping the blobs down to a certain level within the container at all times.

Things are further complicated by the addition of bonuses and hazards. A blob bomb helps clear the area, while a poisonous blob ends the game if tapped, and some blobs don't move at all.

It all works well within Gluey, creating an entertaining yet simple mix of fun. The Puzzle mode falters a little with a confused difficulty curve that means some levels feel too easy, while others feel too hard, but Gluey still feels worth the time despite that.
