Sprint 4G LTE Expanding to 100 Cities in Coming Months

Sprint announced today that it plans to bring its 4G LTE network to more than 100 new cities in the next few months.

Sprint announced today that it plans to bring its 4G LTE network to more than 100 new cities in the next few months.

That includes Chicago, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles.

"During the pre-launch phase, customers with capable 4G LTE devices may begin to see 4G LTE coverage in these areas and are welcome to use the network even before it officially launches," Sprint said.

A complete list of cities in which Sprint plans to roll out 4G LTE is available on the carrier's community website, but it also includes cities like Austin, Orlando, Wichita, Philadelphia, Miami, and Washington, D.C.

Sprint in July with 15 cities, including Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, and San Antonio. It's currently available in 19 cities around the country.

In June, in five locations throughout Atlanta. "If our exclusive test results hold up, its new 4G LTE network will be competitive with AT&T's and Verizon's," we concluded at the time.

Sprint was actually the first major wireless carrier in the U.S. with 4G, but that was . The carrier is now upgrading to LTE, which boasts faster speeds.
